7 Actions to Avoid to Make Sure You Start Your Day Right

A good start to your day is essential in making sure that the rest of the day is spent in a proactive, productive way. An energetic you in the morning will lead to an energetic you all day. Here are 7 rules The Independent Journal has laid out for you to follow every morning to make sure that you start your day right!

You snooze, you schmooze!

According to analysts that have studied sleep patterns and the effects they have on people, you should never hit the snooze button when your alarm goes off in the morning. This is because every time you fall asleep after hitting the snooze on your alarm, you enter a sleep cycle that remains incomplete before the alarm goes off again. This means that you’ll feel unrested, tired, and lethargic when you wake up.

Don’t curl up in bed

I know how good it feels to stay curled up in bed as soon as you wake up, but don’t! Stretch your arms and legs even as you are lying in bed. This little bit of exercise will make you more energetic and ready to take on the day. Curling up may feel good at the moment, but you might feel more wound up and sleepy throughout the day.

Leave the emails for later

Checking out emails and messages is something that all of us tend to do first thing in the morning, even before we get out of bed, as it is just so accessible with our phones right next to us. But this will just encourage mindless scrolling and wasting of time as you get distracted by other things on your phone. Get up and get on to more productive actions like washing your face, brushing your teeth, and getting ready for work.
