Strangest Laws From Around The World That You Won’t Believe Exist Even Today!
9. Tibet
Whether or not you believe in reincarnation, we can all probably agree that this law issued by the State Administration for Religious Affairs that says that no Buddhist monks in Tibet can reincarnate without getting approval from the government sounds utterly crazy. Now, how one would go about doing that baffles me.
10. Oxford
Feeding the pigeons might be something you like to do, but if you’re ever in places like Singapore, Oxford, Venice, etc. you might need to refrain from doing that. These are just a few places around the world that have banned feeding these “flying rats”. Given that they poop everywhere, carry diseases, and are already large in numbers, you can’t begrudge the law.
11. French
Ketchup has been banned in French school cafeterias since 2011. And it’s not for health reasons, as one might assume, either. In fact, it was because Christoper Hebert, the president of the National Association of Municipal Catering Managers, though that “every spoonful of ketchup was like eating the ‘incarnation of Americanism’”. This is all apparently to “preserve the French culture”. Ironically, ketchup is only allowed to be served on French fries (which aren’t even French at all either).
