Strangest Laws From Around The World That You Won’t Believe Exist Even Today!
3. Greece
Can it be illegal to die? Believe it or not, there are several places around the world where it actually is! Certain places prohibit death (and birth) due to sacred beliefs, like ancient Greece or Itsukushima island in Japan. Other places like Brazil and France have this law to limit the overflow of cemeteries. Some places like the United States and Spain have it just for humor, and to bring people’s attention to getting regular health checkups (which could essentially prevent death in certain cases).
4. Scotland
In Scotland, it’s illegal for a boy under the age of 10 to see a naked mannequin. This bizarre law was no doubt an attempt at protecting minors, but we aren’t sure it makes too much sense. Also, who is to be held accountable if this “crime” did occur? The boy, his guardians, or… the mannequin?
5. France
There’s an official law in France that states that it is illegal for someone to marry a dead person. We’d like to know who and what actually caused the need for this law, because that’s sure to make an interesting story!
